Bachelor of Science in Management with a Human Resource Management Concentration

The School of Business and Engineering offers a BS in management with an HR concentration at Quinnipiac. This degree program will give students a strong basis in management with the finer points of human resources mixed into the curriculum. This will allow graduates to learn how to plan, organize, lead and control their companies as a human resources professional. The school is highly committed to academic excellence and teaching students how to utilize their critical thinking, leadership and analytical skills in the real world.
In order to successfully graduate from the program, students will need to complete a total of 125 credits. These credit hours are made up of 46 business core credits, 37 university curriculum credits, 15 management core credits and 15 human resources core credits. The HR courses include information about employment law, staffing and international HR management.

College of Business

The College of Business at the University of New Haven provides students with an outstanding opportunity to meet their goals as young business professionals. With a focus on both classroom curriculum and real world experiences, students are given the tools needed for success in their future careers. Students who attend the College of Business will find a diverse group of faculty, a number of outstanding internship opportunities and access to local business leaders. Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Concentration in Human Resource Management

Students who choose to major in business management at the College of Business have the opportunity to concentrate in human resources management. With this program, students will be given the skills, knowledge and abilities to be a success as a human resources professional. Some of the focus areas of the program are workforce planning, training, talent management, labor relations and creating a safe workplace. Students will also be taught how taking on the role as an HR professional can be extremely positive for their organization.
Students who wish to concentrate in human resources will need to take a number of courses in addition to their business core courses. They also need to complete an internship, an independent study or a take a practicum course in order to graduate. Upon graduation, students will often find work in local businesses as HR generalists or in another human resources position.

John F. Welch College of Business

The John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University offers a number of undergraduate and graduate programs for students. The college puts a strong emphasis on core business skills, communication, ethics and technology. In addition, students are taught in a way where classroom lectures are enhanced by hands on learning and state-of-the-art technology is stressed throughout their studies. The faculty at the school are professionals in their fields and many conduct research and other projects that students are invited to be a part of. Master of Science in Human Resource Management

The MS in human resource management is a 33-credit program. Students can choose from either a part-time or full-time program depending on their personal schedule. This is also a very flexible program which makes it ideal for those who are currently working and wish to advance their career. All students will have the opportunity to work with other students, faculty members and human resources professionals in the local business community. This offers a good way to network and can lead to a new job following graduation.
In order to successfully graduate, students will need to complete 24 credits of core human resources focused courses. In addition, students will have their choice of electives and all students will be required to take on a project. Students who do not have experience or an undergraduate degree in business will be required to take additional courses.
