SHRM Aligned Human Resources Degrees in Oklahoma

With its fast-growing economy and diverse offerings in industry and agriculture, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that there are several major university programs here that offer Human Resource degree programs in Oklahoma. The Spears School of Business offers online degrees as well as standard degree programs and houses the Department of Management, which in turn offers the undergraduate degree in management with two options in addition to the general management degree option.

The more focused degree options included under this umbrella are the human resource management degree described below and a sports management degree. Among the options for human resource degree programs in Oklahoma, this would be one of the more affordable ones, given that this is a public, state university. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management Major, Human Resource Management Option

This degree program involves completion of 120 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on general coursework and a 2.2 in the courses that make up the 34 credit hours of the Human Resources Management major requirements. The overall 120 hours are comprised of 31 hours in general education requirements, seven hours in department required courses in oral communication, analytical and quantitative coursework, and orientation, nine hours in elective courses, and 73 total credit hours in upper division coursework for the management major. Of these 73 hours, 39 hours are taken in general business management courses in accounting, marketing, statistics, and economics, with the remaining 34 hours in subjects specific to human resources, such as forecasting demand for personnel, compensation administration, labor relations and collective bargaining, training and development, and recruitment.

Rogers State University is a four-year regional university that serves the northeastern areas of Oklahoma, including the Tulsa metropolitan area. One of the state’s oldest institutions of higher learning, the University of Central Oklahoma was originally founded in 1890 and is currently one of the top public universities in the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City. The College of Business is one of the largest in the country, serving more than 3,000 students annually and providing 13 undergraduate degree majors across six departments. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management

This degree program prepares students to take on a generalist role and perform the core human resources functions on the job, in any given organization or field. Price College of Business

The University of Oklahoma is a public, research university founded in 1890 and located in Norman, OK, about 20 minutes from Oklahoma City. With three campuses and just slightly more than 20,000 undergraduate students, it boasts of the ability to provide a major university experience with a private college atmosphere. The College of Business has existed under various titles since the early 1900s, earning the title of the Michael F. Price College of Business in 1997, named after a benefactor and alumnus. The Price College of Business offers various degrees at undergraduate and graduate levels through its six individual departments.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree with the University of Oklahoma involves completion of a minimum of 122 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall. This total includes the general education courses needed for the four-year degree, the basic prerequisite business courses, and electives, both lower division and upper division. In addition, students will take at least 15 credit hours of core business courses and 18 credit hours in courses specific to the human resource management major. Collins College of Business

The University of Tulsa is a private, research institution with a liberal arts foundation and a reputation for community involvement and charitable endeavors. The Collins College of Business was founded in 1935 and currently serves about 1,300 students annually in class size that average 19 students.
