SHRM Aligned Human Resources Degrees in Oregon

Bachelor’s Degree in Business: Human Resource Management

The Human Resource Management degree program involves a minimum of 82 business credits, of which 20 are in specific human resource management courses. These courses include Human Resource Management, Reward Systems ad Performance Management, Staffing and Employee Selection, and Human Resource Strategy. This last course is the capstone course for this concentration.

To satisfy the other degree requirements, students take business courses that are common across the various concentrations and include such courses as Organizational Behavior, Business Finance, and Marketing Management. These are upper division courses and are completed following several lower division courses that are taken along with the general education requirements that are common to all four-year degrees offered at Portland State University. Students may also take other human resource management courses beyond the initial core requirements, with offerings such as Training and Development Human Resources Information and Technology, and Collective Bargaining/Labor Relations.
