SHRM Student Chapters in Arkansas

The Society for Human Resource management (SHRM) oversees seven student chapters in Arkansas. These chapters add a real world dimension to students’ business studies for a well-rounded education. The door is also opened for mentoring and net-working possibilities. Degrees in Human Resources are generally earned through a school’s College of Business (COB).

Arkansas State University

Arkansas State University is located in Jonesboro and has a student population of about 14,000. Its northeastern setting is close to major hubs of Little Rock, St. Louis and Memphis.

Popularly called A-State, the school offers a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) the program prepares students to function successfully in the world of business. Access to career planning resources and net-working with local HR professionals are two advantages of membership. The chapter sponsors running events and Etiquette dinners in addition to professional meetings.
