Saint Joseph’s College, also known as Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, has a long history of providing opportunities for students. Established as a college for women when it opened in 1912, it originally focused on helping female students gain the necessary skills for launching their careers. SJC later added a distance learning program that gave students the option of taking classes through the mail, which later became its online campus. SJC offers online classes to students living all across the country and in nine different countries outside the United States, which helped its enrollment climb to more than 2,4000 students.

Human Resources Management B.S.B.A.

The Human Resource Management degree at Saint Joseph’s College is an extension of its Business Administration program. Students will take a combination of management and business courses to earn their degrees. Some of the program’s required courses include financial accounting, introduction to marketing, economics and business law. When you reach your final year in the program, the college asks that you take and complete an internship during your first semester. As one of the best human resources degree programs in Maine, this program also requires that you take a seminar in your senior year. This course combines classroom learning with independent thought and research as you complete a research paper on a topic of your choosing relating to the theme of the seminar.

Thomas College

Thomas College was one of the first coeducational colleges in Maine when it opened in 1894. From its earliest days, the college focused primarily on business studies and initially offered degree programs and training programs for accountants and other business professionals. The school later became a junior college before finally earning the right to offer four year programs and grant bachelor degrees to graduating students. The private college retains the look and feel of a small campus and currently has a total population of around 1,300 students. It still focuses on business programs but now offers education and technology courses as well.

Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management

Thomas College offers a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, also known as its Human Resource Management (BS) program. Unlike other human resources degree programs in Maine, this one offers students a look at different careers they might begin after graduating, including operations management and labor relations. In addition to general education required courses, you must also take some core business classes that include business communications, microeconomics, business law and management principles. To complete the management aspect of your degree, you’ll take classes on topics like managerial accounting, work place law, management and economics math, human resource management and compensation administration. Thomas College also requires that all HR students take at least five electives from other departments and disciplines.
