University of Mississippi
The University of Mississippi is a large public university in Oxford that maintains a school system with several additional campuses in the state. Founded in 1844, it opened four years later with fewer than 100 students enrolling. Its slow expansion over the coming years led to the university’s enrollment increasing to more than 23,000 students today.
