SHRM Student Chapters in Idaho

The Society for Human Resource Management is a professional association dedicated to Human Resource Management. With 250,000+ members in more than 140 nations around the globe, their mission is to advance the interests of the Human Resources profession throughout the world. There are nearly 600 chapters affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management in the United States and additional chapters in India, China, and United Arab Emirates. As the 13th largest state in the US, there are three.SHRM Student Chapters in Idaho. Regional chapters of the Society of Human Resource Management also exist for students at universities that do not have a student chapter of SHRM.

Boise State University

The largest university in the state of Idaho, Boise State University offers just one undergraduate major related to Human Resources: a BBA in Human Resource Management. They also offer Human Resource Management as a minor for management majors. They do not offer graduate degrees in Human Resources management.

Boise State University has a very active student chapter of the SHRM and its Bachelor’s program in Human Resource Management is aligned with the SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. The council generally meets once a month.

Idaho State University

With more than 14,000 students from around the world, Idaho State University offers high quality post-secondary education in more than 280 programs. The university offers one program for those interested in a career in Human Resource Management: a BBA in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Idaho State University doesn’t offer a graduate degree specific to human resource management.

Students involved in the Idaho State University Human Resources Management Club can gain valuable industry knowledge and access to experience that will allow any student to get more out of their BBA in Management with a concentration in Human Resources Management and give them the skills and information they need to succeed as a human resources manager after graduation.

University of Idaho

Founded in 1889, University of Idaho offers a variety of outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs and has been repeatedly recognized as one of the finest public schools in the US by the Princeton Review.

University of Idaho offers a B.S. in Management & Human Resources. Though the university offers an M.S. in Human Factors Emphasis, which could be helpful to a human resources professional, there are currently no graduate programs offered that specifically relate to Human Resource Management.

The University of Idaho has an active SHRM student chapter, which has won the Superior Merit Award every year since 2010. Participating in their SHRM student chapter could help a student network with HR professionals and give him or her an excellent opportunity to pick up valuable industry knowledge and experience.
