SHRM Student Chapters in Kentucky

Society for Human Resource Management student chapters in Kentucky are probably not on most people’s lists when you mention Kentucky. Daniel Boone, Kentucky Derby, Bluegrass State, Abraham Lincoln and Mammoth Cave National Park probably are; however, most people don’t realize the extensive higher education opportunities in the state.

Most likely, they also don’t realize Kentucky is the 4th largest producer of automobiles in the USA and is listed by Forbes as the 9th best state for business costs, or that horse racing is a 3 billion industry for the state. That opens plenty of opportunities for Human Resource positions in the state’s businesses. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has chapters set up to provide guidance, resources and networking opportunities for students at higher education campuses throughout Kentucky.

BELLARMINE COLLEGE

The Human Resources degree earned at Bellarmine falls under the psychology department. An internship in a human resource position is required.

The local SHRM chapter, Louisville Society for Human Resource Management (LSHRM), offers scholarships to metro Louisville SHRM student chapter members. The chapter has information to help students with mentoring, obtain internship positions and network with local human resource professionals. Student members are always welcomed at their monthly meetings.
